Welding Program

The Welding program at IIAS is designed to equip students with specialized technical skills required in high-demand industries, such as construction, shipbuilding, and oil & gas. Welding plays a crucial role in the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures, making it a fundamental skill in the global industrial sector. This program provides comprehensive hands-on training in various welding techniques, including arc welding, MIG/TIG welding, and pipe welding, ensuring that students develop the expertise to handle different types of metals and welding processes. Students will also learn how to interpret blueprints and welding symbols, apply international safety standards, and perform quality inspections to ensure the durability and reliability of welded structures.

Key Skills Developed

A successful welding career requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and strict adherence to
safety regulations. This program ensures that students acquire the following critical skills:

Arc Welding, MIG

Hands-on training in key welding techniques widely used in manufacturing, construction, and metal fabrication industries

Welding Inspection

Learning to assess weld quality through techniques such as visual inspection, radiographic inspection, ultrasonic testing, and nondestructive testing (NDT) to ensure flawless, highstrength welds.

Reading Blueprints

Developing the ability to interpret engineering drawings, welding specifications, and symbols, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design requirements.

Safety Protocols

Emphasizing industry-standard safety procedures, including personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, hazard identification, and workplace safety regulations, to maintain a secure working environment

Weld Testing

Gaining proficiency in weld testing methods, including destructive and non-destructive testing, to ensure precision, durability, and adherence to international quality standards.
